Icon BJJ Peterborough is part of the global Icon BJJ network, founded and led by Zé Marcello, a 6th degree black belt whose lineage runs directly through the founding Gracie family via Carlson Gracie.

The Peterborough academy is headed by Delroy McDowell, a black belt under Zé Marcello and one of the most decorated competitors in UK BJJ. Delroy has won the IBJJF Europeans five times and earned his black belt with a gold medal at the British Open 2015. He brings that competitive experience directly into his coaching, with a structured syllabus designed to progress students at every level.

New students are guided through a dedicated Fundamentals programme before joining the main Gi sessions and open mat sparring.
