Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Icon BJJ collects when you visit iconbjj.com, why, and what rights you have over it. It covers this website only. It does not cover in-person data collected at an academy (for example, membership or waiver paperwork), which is handled directly by that academy's instructor.

Who we are

Icon BJJ operates iconbjj.com as the global network's website. For any privacy question, contact Zé Marcello, Founder, at zemarcello@mac.com.

What this site currently collects

iconbjj.com does not currently run a live contact form, newsletter signup, or account system. As a result, we do not currently collect names, email addresses, or messages through this website directly. The following does still apply whenever you visit:

• Standard hosting data. This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like almost every website, Cloudflare's infrastructure processes technical data needed to serve the page and keep it secure, such as your IP address, browser type, and request timestamps. We do not access this data individually; it exists as part of standard web hosting and security.
• Google Maps embeds. Academy location pages include an embedded Google Map so you can find the venue. Loading that map means Google may set cookies and process data according to its own privacy policy, independent of this site. We only embed the map, we do not receive or store anything from that interaction ourselves.

What we don't do

• We do not use Google Fonts or any third-party font service. All fonts on this site are self-hosted, so no font-related data is sent to Google or anyone else.
• We do not currently run analytics, advertising pixels, or tracking scripts of any kind.
• We do not sell or share data, because we do not currently collect any through this site.

When this changes

We are planning a contact form for enquiries and free trial bookings. Once that form is live, this policy will be updated before launch to describe exactly what it collects (expected to be name, email, and message), how long it is kept, and any third-party service used to deliver it (for example, an email delivery provider and Cloudflare Turnstile for spam protection). If you're reading this after that update, the section above will reflect the live form; if you see this note still here, the form is not yet active.

Children's data

Some Icon BJJ academies run classes for children. This website does not knowingly collect personal data from children directly. Any enquiry about a child's class should come from a parent or guardian.

Cookies

This site does not set its own tracking or analytics cookies. Cloudflare may set cookies necessary for security and performance (for example, distinguishing legitimate traffic from bots). Google Maps embeds may set their own cookies when loaded, as described above.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to object to processing. Since this site does not currently collect personal data directly, these rights will become directly relevant once the contact form is live. You can always contact us with any question at zemarcello@mac.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page whenever what we collect changes, and update the date at the top when we do.
